Disco Balls at a Wedding?

If someone told me they were going to decorate their wedding with disco balls, my immediate thought would be cheesy. I am so glad that the talented duo from Brancoprata proved me wrong. :) Even the bride’s shoes are “disco ballesque”. Enjoy these pictures and Happy Monday!

Vendor Spotlight: Champagne and Lipstick, LLC

Today I am excited to post a vendor spotlight about the fantastic make-up artist, Beth Jerrels of Champagne & Lipstic LLC. Enjoy!

Name: Champagne & Lipstick LLC Make-Up Artistry by Beth Jerrels
Website: www.champagneandlipstick.com
Email: beth@champagneandlipstick.com
Starting Price: My pricing is as varied as the different make-up opportunities I have been involved with. However, bridal make-up is my
specialty and starts at $200 for the bride (that includes two sessions and lashes).

How did you get started in professional make-up artistry?
I have always done make-up for family and friends, but professionally…While working in salons as a hair stylist I would also work in the make-up room whenever possible, my clients loved their looks and were quite encouraging. I truly always wanted to do make-up full time, so in 2004 I started Champagne & Lipstick LLC and have since taken professional classes from three gracious educators out of New York, and learned much from other professionals here locally and away. Champagne & Lipstick LLC as created to cater to brides and bridal parties on their Big Day! A bride’s wedding day is the one day in her life she wants to look and feel her most beautiful!

What is your specialty?
My specialty is bridal beauty. My goal is to bring a fresh approach to each individual make-up style to achieve a polished look that will compliment the brides unique beauty and personality. My brides tell me I make them look beautiful and flawless, but they still look like themselves. I want them to feel comfortable in the make-up I apply AND look amazing!

Career wise, what would you be doing if you were not in make-up artistry?
Anything else would be “just a job”. Now I feel so blessed to be doing what I always dreamed of doing as a career! Glorious make-up – too fun!!

What is something few people know about you?
I am a bit shy, but I hide it well. Always pushing through it to make others feel comfortable, then I don’t feel shy anymore.

What is your favorite beauty/make-up tip?
Honestly my best make-up tip is to hire a professional make-up artist for your wedding day, and I can give you several good reasons why…

  • You want your make-up to be as polished and beautiful as your gown and your hair. It is a complete look.
  • You want the make-up to last all day an into the night.
  • You want to look and feel your best all day, AND for that beauty to come through in your photographs!
  • What is one piece of advice you would offer to couples?
Along with other professionals, do hire April as your wedding planner to handle the details, so that on your wedding day you can plan to relax and truly enjoy the day, it is Your Day after all!!

    Anything else?
Thank you April, I am so honored to be featured on your blog! You do such a lovely job and you strive for perfection, just as I do.

Venue Spotlight: Historic H. Breeding Farm

A couple months ago, I visited a wonderful ceremony/reception site in Bartholomew County, Indiana. The Historic Henry Breeding Farm is located in Edinburgh – about 2 miles away from the outlet mall, hotels and dining. It is perfect for couples looking for a rustic venue for their reception. They also have plenty of land perfect for a ceremony.

A few facts about the barn and the property:

Size of the barn: 3500 square feet (can seat up to 300 without a dance floor – 250 with a dance floor)

    Amenities provided with rental:

  • Ample parking
  • 180 metal folding chairs
  • 25 6-foot banquet tables
  • Kitchen with standard size stove
  • Refrigerator, and double sinks
  • Male and female restrooms (not in barn)
  • Factors to consider:

  • The barn is not heated or air conditioned. Rental is not advised after October or before May.
  • While there is a house on property, it is not available to rent. If you choose to have your ceremony at the farm, you will have to get ready elsewhere.
  • Here are some pictures I took during my visit:
(note: the plastic covered items in the barn would be removed for an event) :)

    Retro Engagement Shoot

I can not get enough of Megan W’s pictures (I blogged about her here, here, and here!) This time she has really outdone herself. Check out these adorable retro soda shop engagement pictures captured by Megan. You might have already seen them as they have been featured on the knot and vintage glam wedding blog, but I love them too much not to share them too. :)
    Enjoy!

Vendor Spotlight: Antique Limo of Indianapolis

Like most Indianapolis Wedding Planners, I love working with great Indianapolis vendors over and over again. Antique Limo of Indianapolis is one of those vendors. I recently had the pleasure of working with Jack on three weddings in a row!

Antique Limo allows you to be sent off in style in either a 1938 Cadillac Model 75, a 1953 Rolls Royce Silver
    Wraith
    , a 1938 Packard V-12 Convertible, or a 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith
    Hooper Bodied Empress
. I’m a little partial to the convertible, but would love to ride in any of these beautiful cars.

Jack always shows up with a smile on his face and offers top notch service. He is truly a joy to work with at any event. Check out the website, Antique Limo of Indianapolis, for more information about each of the cars and pricing.
