1. How long have you been a professional photographer?
I’ve been a professional wedding photographer for just a few years, although I started as a portrait photographer long before that. We’ve been blessed in the relatively short span of time of doing weddings that we continue to love it, and have really just exceeded our own expectations exponentially and plan to keep it comin’ for everyone!

2. Describe your style.
Our style…I would say our style is a little against the grain. My motto in life has always been to “Break the rules, and be very unapologetic about it.” We brand ourselves as couture, urban, and fresh; we want everything to have spunk, character, and feel very alive while most importantly being very fashion forward as if they could appear in a magazine. Fabulous, dahling!

3. Career wise, if you weren’t a photographer, what would you be doing now?
Unrealistic answer: If I weren’t a photographer, I would seriously want to be an actress. And Kyle’s answer would actually be the same! He almost instead moved out to LA after graduation. But, most likely I would just be starving in LA. ( : Realistic answer. I have absolutely and honestly no idea. I have had the opportunity to do so many things with my life that I could have been a violinist, lawyer…

4. What is something that few people know about you?
I’m actually a semi-professional violinist and fluent in French! Kyle was class valedictorian and prom king. (shhhh!)

5. If you could give a couple one piece of advice when choosing a photographer, what would it be?
Follow YOUR heart. Hopefully when you became betrothed, you made the decision to be with this person because of your own love for them. On a much smaller scale this same application is valuable. Certainly others have great advice for you on who to choose based on their own criteria, but you shouldn’t choose a photographer based on the recommendation of your friends and (and I’m going to get flack for this!) certainly not your parents-even if they are paying for it. I don’t care-I’m serious! You need to fall in love with the photographer’s style, images, and personality as well. They are going to be with you on one of the most intimate, stress-full, and joyous occasion of your life so don’t book a photographer based on their packages, albums, or camera gear. Book a photographer based on if you can see yourself in their images, and it you can have a kick-ass fun time with them! If you are enjoying yourselves and not wierded out or uncomfortable with your photographer, then everyone is happy.

6. Anything else you would like to add?
No one EVER knows where to find the the “|” symbol (vertical line) in J|Andra Photography. We are always “JAndra, or J Andra, or Jandra. ( :
To save everyone the pain-It is located above the return key with the “” key. Press shift + and now you have it! Voila!
My favorite food IS wedding cake. Be fabulous, and thank you!
